Bill Binney (former NSA) on the Arrest of Julian Assange

Julian Assange was arrested at the Ecuadorian Embassy in London for failing to show up in court in London in 2012, and pursuant to a previously sealed, March 2018 indictment from the U.S. District Court in the Eastern District of Virginia. That indictment charges him with conspiracy with respect to Chelsea Manning’s leak of secret and sensitive information to WikiLeaks, which published Manning’s material, later covered and republished by the Guardian, the New York Times, Der Speigel, and El Pais. Assange announced through his attorneys that he would fight extradition on the indictment.
